Happy Thanksgiving!
The wind brought in a beautiful blue sky with loads of sunshine. The wind stuck around causing the temperature to remain cool for this Thanksgiving Monday. It was a perfect day to walk the Songhees Walkway to Esquimalt. Hundreds of others thought the same thing as the walkway got busy as the morning went on.
I wanted to breathe in the ocean air, swish through leaves, listen to the birds and watch the water activity. The songs of two Kingfishers filled the air as they were being harassed by crows. I believe this one was telling me please send me a lifeline I need to be saved!
The autumn colours were incredible!
I made it to Esquimalt and carried on into the municipality to see the sights.
Esquimalt has its own neighbourhood of houseboats!

It was still windy!
By late afternoon it was time to pick up my preordered Thanksgiving dinner from 10 Acres which was a short walk from my Inn. I ordered dinner for one, I will get two dinners from what they provided which was turkey with mashed potatoes, roast vegetables, cranberry sauce, stuffing, gravy, two bowls of butternut squash soup and pumpkin cheesecake. I picked up a bottle of “Sea Star Salish Sea 2024” wine to savour with dinner.
Happy Thanksgiving!
The colours are magnificent, what a difference from here! I thought of you and your turkey dinner as we ate ours last night…you certainly scored a deal on what you got. Thankful for an awesome sister and the time we get to spend together. ❤️ Norma
