π΅ oh the weather outside is frightful π΅
While the snow was falling and the crashes were happening, I stayed home to wait it out. It was a good time to begin bringing my Christmas decorations up from the basement. In the midst of doing so, a thought came to mind. I wanted to be out watching the birds but that would have to wait for another day. Instead, I painted a bird watching a bird! In the midst of doing that, another thought came to mind. From my decorations, I picked out two to take with me on my afternoon wander.
When it was no longer as frightful out there, just like two days ago, I played it safe by not driving too far. I headed back to the Birth Forest this time with two decorations tucked in my pocket. Each year I like to place some decorations on snow-covered trees for photo ops then bring them home and hang them on my Christmas Tree. It feels like the decorations then have another little level of meaning.
While wandering through the Birth Forest,
I came upon the new trees that were planted this summer.
There were a variety of species.
Each tree was covered in a warm coat of white.
This one measures about a foot in height.
seven seconds savouring snow
the winds whipped the snow into drifts
The only wildlife I saw today was this flock of Canada Geese flying in formation.
I heard them long before I saw them!
I wonder why they don't fly quietly!
They were heading North, instead of South where the weather is warmer!
While wandering the weather warranted wearing my hood over my hat!
Now that my blog post is written and I am no longer in the midst of doing something, it's time to get back to bringing my Christmas decorations up from the basement. Oh wait, that will have to wait, it's time to get dinner going!
