Christmas in Banff December 24, 2025

When I peeked outside after waking this morning, I sighed deeply with a wide smile!  It was snowing! I had lots of time before I had to leave so I checked out what the painting was for the 24th day of Advent.  I enjoyed painting someone rushing home at the last minute with a Christmas Tree and presents.

I booked an early gondola ride up Sulphur Mountain.  While I was not the happiest to be driving the snow-covered roads, I was happy to be on them somewhat early, before traffic picked up. I knew I would not see far off vistas when I reached the terminal at the top of the mountain.  I knew though I would see tons of new white gold.  I love snow! I love my country!  Do you see a heart frame created by Mother Nature?

Only four people were ahead of me as I walked up to Cosmic Ray and no one was in sight behind me, I took my time savouring all the snowy sights.  It was still snowing from when I peeked out when I woke. It is amazing how sweet the silence is when snow is pelting down.

The four folks in front of me did not stop at the Red Chairs,
so I was the first to sit there today!

There was really no need for me to create flurries
but I could not resist to add to the abundance that had already fallen and was still falling.

That’s Tunnel Mountain in the far middle, the golf course and Mount Rundle on the right.  I did not expect to be able to have these views, it was an added bonus.  It was the snow I came for anyway!

As I arrived at the top, a couple came along.  They were visiting from Raleigh, North Caroline. They had never been here before and this weather was a new experience for them.  We took each others photos. They  began the walk back, I stayed a little longer and owned the area.

Back at the terminal, I strolled around inside and out.  Looking at that pointy thing out the window at the top, that’s Cosmic Ray where the above photo was taken.

The globe was covered in snow!

I purchased this book a couple of weeks ago to bring with me to Banff.  I wanted an easy, light, festive read.  Was I manifesting the weather Banff is receiving right now?  It’s still snowing as I type this post!
