the pathway leading from the train station parking lot to the…..
…..Banff sign!
From here on in, the walkways were not clear of snow
so there was much swishing to do to my delight!

Yesterday I hiked up Tunnel Mountain which is in the middle above the trees.

This is the section of the Bow River Trail that leads to Bow Falls. There was a warning sign that it is not maintained in winter. More swishing was required along with some slow sliding when descending.

note to self: create a watercolour painting
Now came time to climb back up from the river.
The trails here were cleared as they are on the Banff Springs Hotel property.
This is in the courtyard on the backside of the archway.

I made it back to the train station parking lot but had to take a detour and round about way to get back to my home away from home. My planned route was closed due to an accident. The detour was along unplowed side streets where my vehicle did lots of swishing. I breathed a sigh of relief as I pulled into the parking spot.

DeleteHello, Alexandra,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful winter scenery! You are the brave out in the cold, I am a wimp in the winter months.
Love the dipper photo, great sighting. The fire looks warm and cozy. Have a happy last weekend of 2025.
I could not imagine staying in and missing all those beautiful sights! The Dipper was so cute to watch especially when it splashed about in the water.
DeleteMost people would stay home in these conditions. Not you. You get out and enjoy the outdoors.
ReplyDeleteI have the proper gear to stay warm so I can be out there.
DeleteWhat a lovely way to start the day by watching the snow from your window ❄
ReplyDeleteEasy to see you had a great time there. I wouldn't mind a glass of that white wine πΈππ·
Stunning view of Banff Springs Hotel surrounded by white mountains. I also llike the photo of the Bow River.
Enjoy your holiday season, Alexandra π¦❄☃️
Seeing the snow fall again meant I had to clear my car off again which I had to do every morning. The views were extra special on this morning.
DeleteI would have never thought of your car covered with snow :-) LOL ... I would park the car in a shelter π❄π
DeleteAll parking spots are outside!
DeleteAn amazing amount of snow to swish about!!! Love the sound of a fire (plus a glass of wine would be π€π€π€for me!) ❤️Norma
ReplyDeleteReally relaxing time did come after the wine!
DeleteI'm not quite sure how you managed to swish so far in those conditions. Perhaps the exhileration of the beauty and adventure
ReplyDeleteThe weight of the snow was like cotton candy, so very easy and enjoyable to swish away!
