No matter what, I was going to be somewhere special today, make the most of the day and be extra grateful. I knew a year ago today when I came out of surgery, that I had a tough journey ahead if I wanted to get back to feeling “on top of the world”! Today was a celebration!

There was still lots of snow and water to find a way around or over or through.
perfect place to be on a hot day
I have been here during mid summer when I was eye level with that sign.
I went as far as Wilcox Pass, I did not venture up to the Ridge. This is my feeling “on top of the world” shot! After taking care of my summit shot, I settle on the rock for close to an hour just to take it all in, be one with where I was physically and mentally. Living life like this is so healthy for the heart and so soothing for the soul.

I had a second, very late lunch back at my home away from home.

Took kids into the glacier many times. I hope that the experience stuck with them and they do some hiking.
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to not have an experience being near the glaciers not stick with you in one way or another!
DeleteHello Alexandra,
ReplyDeleteI have heard of this scenic drive! The views are gorgeous, what a beautiful getaway.
It is cool seeing a Bobcat! Take care, enjoy your day!
I met many people from the United States who were enjoying the Icefields Parkway for the first time. It is a well known drive and people come from all over the world to experience it.
DeleteCongratulations on your one-year recovery! You've had a challenging year. The Icefields Parkway is one of my favourite drives. So many wonderful vistas. So glad the bobcat wasn't interested in you!
ReplyDeleteIt is one of my favourite drives too. I am fortunate to have it so close to home.
DeleteSome more amazing photos & boy, that is a lot of snow if that sign is eye level when there isn’t any!!! Happy the bobcat had no interest in you. ❤️Norma
ReplyDeleteHappy too the bobcat just passed on by! Lots of snow still to melt so still lots of high water in rivers!
