The Park was bustling with activity this morning! Between the Bald Eagles building their nests, to the Trumpeter Swans continuously trumpeting while flying about, to the Bucks chasing the Does, to the Muskrats feeding on vegetation, to the many birders who came looking to spot the one and only Glaucous Gull that has been hanging out in the area which is an unusual thing, there was never a dull moment.
It was the two Bald Eagles bustling about that captured most of my attention. Did you notice I said they were building their nests, yes nests, plural! I chatted with others about why would they be building two nests almost side by side. This is new to me but I guess constructing two for various reasons is a common thing.
One Bald Eagle flew to my side of the river numerous times to collect branches to bring to a nest.

Hello Alexandra,
ReplyDeleteIt is great to see the eagles working on their nest. I am surprised there are two nest close together.
Awesome photos of the eagles. Take care, have a happy day and great week ahead.
