Everything about Tossa de Mar was what I hoped it would be and every little thing I found to be so appealing! This seaside resort is located on the Costa Brava approximately 103 kilometres north of Barcelona and around 100 kilometres south of the border with France. It is known for beautiful beaches, and copplestone walkways, private coves, rocky shores and cliffside dwellings. The stores are quaint as are the restaurants located along the narrow winding walkways. This was my first view of where Tossa de Mar meets the sea.
It is backdropped by rolling hills scattered with homes.
a walkway through a neighbourhood down to the sea
the rocky shore with homes perched on the cliffs
exploring along a walkway looking down to the beach
spring time flowers
view of apartment buildings while walking around the seaside village
view of the white buildings so very common along the Costa Brava
Tossa de Mar is known as a fishing village in addition to being a tourist resort.
walkway amongst the apartment buildings and homes
view of the beach and village
turquoise waters of the Mediterranean Sea
promenade by the sea
finding the way
The timing was perfect for visiting Tossa de Mar on this day. It was not quite tourist season yet, but the weather performed like it was. If you were to walk the 217 kms historic Camino de Rondo on the Costa Brava, you would pass through this village. There was much about this place that filled me with ideas for sketching and painting and incorporating beach glass somehow into a project.
